Description:
Greg Payne and Jim Diz Gillespie bought The Press in 1974 and still own and operate it today. They remodeled the upstairs from apartments into a pool hall known as The Parlor.
Since the mid 70s The Press has had a national, if not international, reputation for being one of the best nights clubs for live Rock & Roll music. Today that legend lives on and in addition, the Parlor upstairs is a favorite for club-hoppers featuring live DJs and dance music with a state of the art sound and light systems surrounding a beautiful dance floor overlooking the St. Germain mall and Mississippi River amidst many TVs, a pool hall, darts & foosball room.
Further renovations throughout the years have kept The Press Bar & Parlor relevant in this fast paced world and even faster paced live entertainment industry, at the same time keeping its history alive. The basement of The Press still houses the original wooden paving blocks and granite foundation Edelbrock built in 1881. Now theres some history!
